Under e below indicam posição inferior; over e above, superior.

Between refere-se a dois elementos; among, a três ou mais.

In front of, behind, next to, beside e opposite completam o quadro espacial básico.

By, With e Without

By indica meio ou agente: by car, written by the author.

With indica companhia ou instrumento: with my friends, cut it with a knife.

Without exprime ausência e é seguido de substantivo ou verbo em -ing: without saying a word.

Preposições e Duração

For mede a duração: for two hours.

Since marca o início: since Monday.

During situa dentro de um período: during the class.

Until indica limite final e by, prazo máximo: by Friday.
